The course begins by establishing a strong foundation in the principles of innovation and the importance of design thinking in various fields such as business, technology, education, healthcare, and social development. Learners will explore how innovation drives growth and progress, and how design thinking provides a structured yet flexible framework to approach problems with creativity and clarity.
A key focus of this course is understanding the five stages of the design thinking process: Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. In the Empathize stage, learners develop the ability to deeply understand users’ needs, emotions, and challenges through observation, interviews, and research. This human-centered perspective ensures that solutions are relevant and user-focused. In the Define stage, learners synthesize their findings to clearly articulate the problem statement, which serves as the foundation for innovation.
